Not focused? Try outsourcing

by admin

If you find that you’re sitting down at your computer and checking emails constantly or surfing Facebook with the majority of your day as a business owner and seem unable to focus or get things done that you know are important, it just may be time for you to outsource.

Interestingly enough part of the challenge of being your own boss and working from home is that you don’t have anyone breathing down your neck to get things done and unfortunately, that can often lead to procrastination.

Outsourcing to others provides an accountability in another way.

When you promise a team member that you will get them an article every Friday, you are going to feel more pressured to do what you said you would do, and much more likely to get the job done.

Planning makes a HUGE difference in your day as well. Something as simple as taking a small tablet and writing down 4 things you want to accomplish for the day will make you more likely to get them done because it forces you to focus on what you wrote down instead of everything else that is pulling at your attention.

One of the ways that I work with clients is to meet with them weekly to discuss what new ideas they might have, where they are with their current projects and then planning what’s the priority so they can focus on what’s most important to them right now. By having deadlines and accountability with weekly calls along with team members who are working along side of the client, it provides momentum in ways you may not have considered.

Don’t delay hiring your team any longer — they may just be what you needed!
